carbonated ink : one man's struggle against boredom

DC round-up

[]    comics : 9. August 2004, 00:11

Seaguy #2-3 (Vertigo): If Seaguy is a return to the happy go-getter anything goes time of comics, then I’m in for the ride. After reading the third part, I’m sure Grant Morrison thinks Requiem for a Dream is a comfort-movie. (Which it is, damnit!) And the tradgedy builds a tension as well as an expectation to part two. Do I need to say I want the other miniseries as well? Highly recommended, and I don’t just say that because I want to read the next part. Let’s hope there will be three more. I have more to say, but I need to re-watch old British tv-shows before I do that.

Ex Machina #1-2 (Wildstorm): I think I like this even more than Y: the Last Man. It’s not quite so slow paced and the non-linear storytelling works really good in giving us just what information we need, when we need it, and no more. The fact that Hundred himself says that according to NSA he can’t talk about certain things about himself and his powers. Highly recommended.
