Even though Ann Nocenti and Sean Philips’ 16-issue run on Kid Eternity is really really good, when I turned the last page it felt as a letdown. Probably because of the premature end. Story arc number one might be finished but what about the second one? The only real neglect was that there was very little appearance of Sara, the hellgirl who at the beginning was more or less obsessed by the Kid, in the later issues. I want to read more. More of everything, and even though it was cancelled year and years ago, comics unlike TV-shows can be picked up by others much further down the timeline. Because they can’t just let Kid Eternity lie there unused, can they?

On the other hand, upon revival in the wrong hand it would most certainly be ret-conned to belong somewhere in Vertigoverse. And that would be a shame, because one of the great strengths is that it stands alone and that therefore the Kid can be the world’s focal point of all things weird.
