Dead Like Me

[]    moving pictures : 7. June 2004, 12:07

If it hadn’t been for that summer class, I wouldn’t leave the house for a couple of days at all. The reason? I got both season two of The Dead Zone and the first season of Dead Like Me.

The pilot to Dead Like Me was very much Bryan Fuller and the likeness to Wonderfalls is there in spades. This is a good thing, although I think Wonderfalls is better. George is no Jaye—even is they share a sarcastic voice-over. Still, it will do for now and it is highly entertaining on it’s own.

  1. Trust me, DLM will grow on you. It gets a LOT more complicated a couple of episodes in.

And compared to Wonderfalls… well, there’s definitely room for both. Even if FOX didn’t think so.

  2. I believe you. DLM is more drama than Wonderfalls, but I can’t help but feeling that George is Jaye-light. But then again, I’m a rabid ‘Faller.

  3. I think we should all remember that George came FIRST.

I liked both shows a lot, but prefer DLM simply because the episodes aren’t quite as dependent upon coincidence to make them go, plus DLM’s ensemble cast is much more interesting. You’ll see.

  4. Johnny: why did you have to go logical like that on me? But what you really say is that DLM is “A New Hope” and Wonderfalls is Empire. (Okay, so you didn’t say it like that but that’s how i decide to interpret it for now. I have changed my mind once or twice in the past.)
