Street Angel
So I’m a bit behind. Street Angel came out in March I think, and it’s been gawking at me from the shelf in the comic bookstore ever since. It’s published by Slave Labor, so I couldn’t help but to be intrigued byt the pink cover. It seems so… wrong somehow. But I’m glad I actually picked it up, because it’s good, a wonderful sense of humour and it has ninjas in it. You can never go wrong with ninjas even if they are somewhat incompetent like in this. Ninjas as villains rule.
A lot of credit should also go out to the creation of Doctor Pangea—“the deadliest geologist of the last 1000 years.” I’m not sure it says a lot really, but it proves what I’ve always suspected: geology leads evilness. Can’t wait until the next issue, and their own description of the second issue only heightens this: “Street Angel, Incas, Pirates, Conquistadors, Ninjas, Inti, CosMick, etc. The most chaotic issue of Street Angel ever!”
Oh, and there’s that Jimbo Lee spoof on the back cover. Thank God. Because if that would have been how it looked inside, she couldn’t have been in only 8th grade. Unless she was held back a whole lot and even then it would have been wrong. So wrong. Still, thankfully it was Jimbo Leesque and not something from the McFarlaine division.
