carbonated ink : one man's struggle against boredom

Spammers have no decency

[]    that internet thing : 12. May 2004, 18:51

This is the second time in a very short time I’ve gotten spam with the subject “coffee.” Is nothing sacred anymore? Well, to the spammers no, but shouldn’t there be some sort of built-in thingamabob in the mail protocols that make sure this deson’t happen? Because if a subjet is “coffee” then I want it to be about coffee damnit. Coffee is sacred.

Comments

  1. Is nothing sacred anymore, you ask after the events of Article 36? I think the answer is rather obbious, really.

  2. Obvious, gorram! Much good that preview button did.

  3. Boo: now smack me up and call me Billy Bob Elevator Junkie, but I don’t think one should use Article 36 as a standard. The world would be much more boring then, as no one would ever be shocked or surprised. Having said that, coffee is always considered sacred no matter what. Even in a post-Article 36 world.

  4. What about dark chocolate? I think chocolate is more sacred that coffee. Maybe that’s because I haven’t learnt to drink coffee yet.

  5. While dark chocolate is good and all that, it’s not as holy as a good pint of pitch black coffee. For instance, it’s very rare that you get weird ideas after a bit too much chocolate. This doesn’t mean that spammers can use it a a subject though—that would be almost just as wrong.

  6. There’s no such thing as “a bit too much chocolate”.
    darnia    (@ 13. May 2004, 20:38)
  7. darnia: And that is why it’s rare that you get weird ideas after, and that is why coffee is way better. Not the only reason but a good start. Coffee Power!!

  8. Darnia: Oh yes, there’s certainly is a such thing! Chocolate bad, BAD.
