The Doc

[]    comics : 6. May 2004, 02:20

It’s soon time to buy Spider-Man again for those of us who don’t do that anymore. Sure, I’ve been making eye tracks towards Bendis work lately, but that’s probably just because I like POWERS. The clone boogaloo made me lose all interest in the character. This also made me reconsider the thought about looking up Bendis’ take, as he now tends to re-work that into the Ultimate Spider-Man. So, no. I don’t think I’ll go down that path.

But now there’s Spider-Man/Doctor Octopus: Year One with Kaare Andrews on the art department. He needs our support! I mean, how else can he afford to send nude pictures to the dynamic duo? The fact that I’m one of the few—no, make that the only one—I know that likes Doc Ock more than Green Goblin has nothing to do with this. (Really.)

  1. But I have faith in Bendis. Since his Venom was really different from the 616-counterpart, no alien symbiote in the ultimate universe, I belive that Bendis clone boogaloo will be everything that the original wasn’t. Good, that is.

If nothing else, Ultimate Spider-Man should be worth picking up for what came before. Grat stuff. Millars Marvel Knights Spidey seem to be able to kick some ass, too. And of course, there’s always JMS on Amazing. Damn, these are good times to be a fan of the little wall-crawler.

  2. Boo: no clone boogaloo can ever be good. Ever. Name one good clone story.

  3. I can. Afford that, that is. Uhu.
