carbonated ink : one man's struggle against boredom

Since I’m a trade paperback whore, I don’t buy many comics on a monthly basis as single issues. I stopped buying the Swedish X-Men a few years ago, and that was it. Never bought a monthly since except for a few at the same time such as Mage: Defined 1-4. This means that it takes a while for me to discover new things. In fact, when I do they’re hardly new. Except for those rare things that comes out in tpb pretty damn fast such as the Losers. This is pretty silly nowadays since unlike where I come from originally, there’s now a good comic book shop in town.

For instince, I’ve been hooked on Kabuki way to late that I should. You should all read it, the Noh are cool. Way cool, even if most of them can’t measure up to the coolness of Siamese.

Anyway. Parliament of Justice, the first comic that’s really scripted by Mike Oeming came out in March I think. And it’s good. No speech-balloons at all, everything is pure narrative. Imagine the lovechild between Batman and Judge Dread protecting Dark City. It’s dark, moody and kind of violent. It’s also quite good and you should pick up a copy.

And now I’m about to go serial again with Seaguy and The Astonishing X-Men. But more about those later when I actually got them in my grubby hands.
