Trailer for Mirrormask! I must be the last person in the world to watch this—probably because I’m not really a trailer-kind of person. Except for the one of the Comedian, but otherwise trailers are just wrong for the most parts. But this? Woohooo! As I suspected it looks creepy and odd, but since this is a McKean/Gaiman-production, it was hard to assume anything else. To see Dave McKean’s art move around was… gah!
The feeling I get when I watched the trailer is that of old-school Jim Henson stuff, only with computers instead of puppets. No “mimic real people” bullshit that seems oh so important. The creatures here look weird, they act weird, and somehow they interact just fine with everything. (In your face, George Lucas! Or: learn.)
