How to Sleep
First ensure that you’re not particularly tired. This is a quite important bit actually. Be it night or day, if you’re tired you can sleep pretty much anytime any place.
Look in the tv guide. It is vital that you do this and not just flick the switch at a matter of a whim. There are things out there on the tv that the wanna-sleep psyche isn’t ready to experience. Some show can keep anyone awake for hours in mind numbing fear – so be careful.
In the guide look for shows such as golf, American sitcoms or maybe foreign news that you can’t understand. Preferably the show you pick should be as static as possible – sudden movement is the enemy.
Other tings to try is to pre-record your own voice reading a VCR-manual. Use this tape or cd during the night to induce total boredom that makes the brain shut down and sleep to follow.
And, if everything else fails, try to read the beginning of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings.” ‘Nuff said.
