carbonated ink : one man's struggle against boredom

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of this world."

So if nothing has gone awry and they’ve just added stuff that shouldn’t be there—this is IMDB we’re talking about, where these things happens fairly regulary—there is this Bollywood remake of Fight Club on the way. Bollywood. Fight Club. My mind has sort of gone haywire because I really want to see this. Sound like the weirdest shit ever, I suspect there will be dance-acts each 15 minutes in the middle of fights, singing while they do project mayhem stuff. I wonder just how much they have changed…

  2. One good thing: Bollywood has some asskicking awesome martial artists.

  3. On a second look closer look, it seems this is one of those without dancing and singing. Which is a shame, because it brings down the “weird fucking shit”-level quite a bit.

  4. freelance writer raised in houston, tx. —ok bollywood ‘borrows’ from hollywood all the time. this is a fact. Im indian myself and I can say that most indians in india will not be able to ‘get’ the original fight club. rumour has it that the writer had used the actual book as a literary reference, but makes it clear that it will be in no way or shape a remake. i don’t believe this.

i think they will try to remake it and do a very, very poor job—especially with the singing and dancing. im sorry, you can’t capture the concept of fight club in THREE PLUS HOURS bollwood style. someone should be shot for doing this…

of all the movies to remake, please do not remake this one.

if you remake this one in bollywood, it will flop because indian cinema goers want the emotional, singing, happy dramas. this goes agaist their undestanding of ‘popular culture’.

and i loved the original movie. i watched it like a 100 times and its finally getting scratchy…

what do you think about the upcoming (2007) Halo movie release? Also played both version a couple of dozen times, and I loved it.
