carbonated ink : one man's struggle against boredom

yeah, it is over the top

[]    that internet thing : 13. April 2005, 22:00

“As a movie from the 80s, Over the Top pretty much represents everything good about the decade. Other than perhaps Rocky IV, this is definitely Stallone’s best work. The man is unquestionably a genius.”

The user comment over att IMDB that this is taken from deserves to be read and cherished. I suspect it’s a joke, but this being IMDB and all there is a slight possibility that the person is deadly serious. But that doesn’t matter. The comment is still just as good and funny.

  1. I watched Over The Top when I was about 11 or 12. Loved it. Even bought the poster. Did the guy from Karate Kid play his son or was that just a bad dream?

  2. I don’t want to know. I honestly don’t.

  3. Aw, come on. You do want to know. Admit. You do, you do, you do, you do. You do, indeed. Honestly.

  4. Well, yeah. But if mr Myagi could play the son of Sly, then they should have given him an Oscar. Quality of the flick be damned.

  5. I just want to stick my dick in your eye bowls. You’re fucking geeks…

And, no, Ralph Macchio was NOT in Over the Top.

  6. It turns out he wasn´t in it, no. But, and this is my point, weak as it may be: he Could have been in it. That´s scary enough for me.

A question for Tommy: did you know how to spell his name, or did you have to double-check?

  7. Of course I know how to spell his name! He’s my hero!
