The dead channel
The new Channel Zero cover is criminally beautiful, so I thought I’d re-read it. You can do worse things in life, and this comic is about two very dear subjects of mine: television and censorship. (For the record, I love the first when it’s done right and I hate the second in all forms no matter what the reason.)
Every time I re-read it, it moves me even more. It gives me ideas. It makes me pissed. I want to do stuff, hack radiowave transmissions, whatever. This urge doesn’t go away easily. I’ll be fidgety and mumble quotes and slogans from the book’s “photo copy this”-pages for days. I wonder if I can blame Brian Wood if I do something really bad? After all, he did make say “just like Jesus!” about himself. Sure, it was about turning 33, but please, that’s just semantics.
